Hidden House Gallery from the heart of Fredericksburg, Texas.

Jo Anne Spencer
...paints the quiet poetry of everyday life — light on water, soft color in motion, and the gentle rhythm of nature.
A lifelong artist and graduate of Texas Tech University, Jo Anne has spent decades refining her delicate balance of realism and emotion. Her award-winning watercolors and oils capture peace, patience, and presence — qualities shaped by years of seeing beauty others might overlook.
Featured on the cover of Fredericksburg Neighbors (August 2020), Jo Anne continues to paint from her home studio in Fredericksburg — a place she and Bob lovingly call the Hidden House, where morning light filters through trees and inspiration finds her daily.
Robert Spencer
...captures the quiet strength of the American landscape — the geometry of light, shadow, and time preserved in oil and canvas.
Educated as an engineer and lifelong student of design, Robert’s precision and patience are evident in every brushstroke. His work blends the structure of his professional background with the spontaneity of nature — rusted locomotives, distant canyons, and weathered woodlands all rendered with a craftsman’s eye for form and history.
During his decades-long career, Robert refined his drawing skills through technical drafting before returning to fine art, studying under Hungarian instructor Dr. Julius Zohar in Dallas, Texas. His paintings have been featured in regional galleries and publications, celebrating his love of the Texas Hill Country and the timeless beauty of things built — and weathered — by hand.
Today, Robert paints from his Fredericksburg studio alongside his wife, Jo Anne, surrounded by the land and light that have inspired them both for a lifetime.
